Crimestoppers awards $750 to Informant
The Local CrimeStoppers Association recently awarded $750 to a Lane County informant who assisted local police in arresting a criminal who was wanted for stealing over $100,000 in vehicles and machinery in the Eugene/Springfield area.
Crimestoppers Cascades is the local chapter of Crimestoppers International. The local crime awareness and prevention association includes Eugene Police Department, Springfield Police Department, Lane County Sherriff, KEZI-TV, and Sonitrol. Formed in September of 2007, the Crimestoppers goal is to publicize wanted criminals and local crimes and seek public involvement by offering rewards up to $1,000 for information that lead to the arrest and conviction of wanted criminals. All informants remain anonymous
